Rules of access to Professional Music Learning:

1. To start the studies of the professional music learning, it will be necessary to pass an admission test.

This test evaluates the maturity, the aptitudes and the knowledge to benefit from the professional training.

 2. The admission test for the professional music training shall be held twice (June and September) by the centre. The candidates can attend a maximum of four examination sessions in any centre in the Valencian Community. If the student passes the test but does not receive a school place, it shall not count to this effect.

 3. The professional music training is ordinarily done between the ages of 12 and 18. Beginning this training under the age of twelve or over the age of eighteen shall be considered exceptional. For this purpose, the department in charge of education matters shall regulate the treatment of this exceptionality.

4. The professional music centres shall consider the aptitudes and training of the students, as well as the ideal age for access to establish the assessment criteria for the access tests in their educational projects.

5. The training centres shall propose, at least three months prior to the tests, the guiding lists of works suitable for each instrument. They will also publish sufficiently in advance the contents and the assessment criteria regarding the tests.

6. Each of the exercises shall be qualifying, the score can range from 0 to 10, and a minimum of 5 in each of them shall be necessary to pass. The final mark shall be the arithmetic average of the three scores.

7. Additionally, students can access a certain level of the professional training without having to complete the previous levels, provided that they prove that they have the technical-instrumental and theoretical-practical knowledge necessary to benefit from the pertinent training, through a test made before an examining board designated by the director of the centre.
