Teulada Moraira’s Department of Social Welfare is ensuring the basic needs of more than 70 families in the face of the health crisis caused by COVID-19. Besides, the department provides psychological help, employment counselling and helps people with applications for assistance of any kind.
The Social Welfare Office gives priority to the most impoverished families who are in urgent need of food. Since the beginning of the crisis, the Office has distributed food vouchers to more than 50 families and referred them to the Red Cross, where around twenty have received bags containing food.
Requests for aid for the payment of electricity, water and gas cannot be processed right now. However, the applications are being collected and processed after the crisis. All families will continue to receive these essential services.
We want to remind the residents that the department is not only providing food aid but is also answering all kinds of questions concerning employment and is assisting if needed, with aid applications. For adults over the age of 30, there is psychological help available.
